Cookie Notice and Privacy Choices
Effective September 23, 2026.
This notice explains cookies and similar storage used by Central Iowa Televising, doing business as CIT Sewer Solutions. Internal analytics can start on for eligible U.S. visits, and you can turn it off. Existing refusals and Global Privacy Control are honored. Google Analytics, Google Ads tracking and Meta tracking remain inactive.
Cookies and browser storage serve different functions.
Cookies are small values that a browser can send back with requests to a website. Local storage keeps values in that browser until the website or you remove them; it has no built-in expiration. Session storage normally lasts for the browser tab's session, although browser restore features can extend it. The table below describes the current uses, rather than every storage key in older or unused source code.
These are the website's current cookies and storage uses.
All entries below are first-party website storage. They are not shared as a domain-wide login or preference with the separate marketing portal.

Some browsers shorten these periods, block storage or clear it sooner. The site works with reduced remembered settings when storage is unavailable. Cookie lifetimes and browser-session timeouts do not define how long records remain on our server.

The signed server permission record distinguishes a U.S. notice-based default from an affirmative choice. Browser storage expiry is not a server-data deletion schedule; server retention follows the Privacy Policy.
cit_pending_analytics_revocation temporarily holds the previous random permission-receipt reference so a failed server withdrawal can be retried. It is necessary preference storage, lasts up to 180 days if unresolved, and is removed after a successful settings save. The local analytics opt-out takes effect immediately.
Page totals continue when internal analytics is off.
Our server counts public page loads by page, hour and broad traffic source without storing a visitor identifier, IP address or personal browsing history in that counter. Those totals are for internal use. Ordinary technical and security logs are separate and may contain request information, including IP addresses.
When internal analytics is on, CIT records page visits and selected actions under separate browser and visit identifiers. A submitted inquiry can be associated with those records. Browser counts are estimates, not identified people, and earlier records cannot be retroactively linked to a browser. This information is not passed to Google or Meta. See the Privacy Policy.
Future Google and Meta tracking will require an updated notice and choices.
CIT plans to use Google Analytics, Google Ads and Facebook advertising. Their website measurement, conversion and advertising tools are currently inactive. We will identify actual provider cookies, purposes and durations before enabling those tools, and obtain the applicable new choice. We will not treat your existing internal-analytics choice as permission for third-party advertising.
Google Analytics can use cookies such as _ga, and Google or Meta advertising tools can use other identifiers, depending on configuration. These examples are not cookies currently set by this website. An identifier stored under a website's own domain can still send data to an advertising company; “first-party cookie” does not necessarily mean “internal use only.”
Read Google's cookie information and Meta's cookie information for their services. Following an external map, manufacturer or social link subjects your visit to that destination's practices.
Your choices remain available and Global Privacy Control is honored.
Open Privacy choices from the footer at any time. Turn off internal analytics to stop future browser/visit measurement and clear its identifiers. A necessary off preference keeps analytics off on later visits, including after a policy change, until you explicitly enable it or clear/expire the preference. Existing refusals are preserved. Refusal takes effect locally even if saving to the server fails; any server failure is shown for retry.
We honor Global Privacy Control as a restrictive setting that blocks internal analytics and advertising. The older Do Not Track signal has no separate setting. Clearing browser storage may remove both identifiers and saved preferences; a later visit is then treated as a new browser. Different browsers and devices have separate choices.
A failed or unavailable eligibility/settings check keeps internal analytics off. Browser identifier expiry and withdrawal do not delete existing server records. Use our privacy request methods for access, correction or deletion requests.
